Welcome to AuthorPage.me. These terms govern your use of our platform. I've tried to write them in plain English while covering the necessary legal bases.

The short version: Be a good citizen, own your content, and we'll provide you with a great author website platform.

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using AuthorPage, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use AuthorPage. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian to agree to these terms on your behalf.

2. Account Registration

To use AuthorPage, you need to:

• Sign in using Google OAuth
• Provide accurate information about yourself
• Keep your account secure (don't share your login)
• Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access

You're responsible for all activity on your account. One account per person, please.

3. What AuthorPage Provides

AuthorPage is a website builder designed specifically for authors. We provide:

• Automatic website creation from your Amazon Author page
• Hosting and delivery of your author website
• Tools to customize your site's design
• Blog functionality
• Newsletter signup collection
• Contact form functionality
• Custom domain support (Pro plan)

Free Plan

Includes up to:

• 10 books
• 10 blog posts
• 250 newsletter subscribers
• 100 contact form messages
• Subdomain hosting (authorpage.me/yourname)

Pro Plan ($9.9/month or $99/year)

Includes:

• Unlimited books, blog posts, subscribers, and messages
• Custom domain support
• Priority support

4. Your Content and Ownership

You own 100% of your content. This includes:

• Your books, bio, and photos
• Your blog posts and articles
• Your newsletter subscriber list
• Your contact form messages
• All customizations you make

You grant AuthorPage a limited license to host, display, and transmit your content solely to provide the service. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

Data export: You can export all your data at any time in standard formats (CSV for emails, JSON for content). You're never locked in.

5. Amazon Data Usage

When you provide your Amazon Author URL, you authorize us to:

• Access your publicly visible Amazon Author page
• Import book information, covers, and author details
• Update this information periodically

We only access publicly available information - the same data any visitor can see on Amazon. We don't access your KDP account, sales data, or any private information.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use AuthorPage to:

• Post illegal content - Anything that violates laws in your jurisdiction
• Infringe on others' rights - Copyright, trademark, privacy violations
• Distribute malware - Viruses, phishing, or harmful code
• Send spam - Unsolicited bulk messages through our platform
• Impersonate others - Pretend to be someone you're not
• Attack our infrastructure - DDoS, hacking, or security exploits
• Abuse the service - Excessive automated requests, scraping our platform

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.

7. Payment Terms

For Pro plan subscribers:

• Payments are processed securely through DodoPayments
• Plans are billed annually
• Prices are in USD
• You can cancel anytime from your dashboard
• See our Refund Policy for refund details

If payment fails, we'll notify you and give you time to update your payment method before downgrading to the Free plan.

8. Intellectual Property

Our stuff: AuthorPage's name, logo, design, and code are our intellectual property. You can't copy, modify, or distribute them.

Your stuff: You retain all rights to your content. We don't claim ownership of anything you create.

DMCA: If you believe content on AuthorPage infringes your copyright, contact us at sekar@authorpage.me with details.

9. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but can't guarantee 100% uptime. We may have:

• Scheduled maintenance (we'll try to notify in advance)
• Unexpected outages (we'll work to resolve quickly)
• Feature changes or updates

We'll do our best to keep your site running smoothly, but we can't be held liable for downtime.

10. Termination

You Can Leave Anytime

Delete your account with one click from your dashboard. We'll remove your data within 30 days (some may be retained longer for legal compliance).

We May Terminate Accounts

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraud, or abuse the platform. We'll try to warn you first when possible.

If AuthorPage Shuts Down

If we ever need to shut down the service, you'll get:

• Minimum 90 days notice
• Full data export support
• Migration guides to help you move elsewhere
• Pro-rated refunds for unused subscription time

Your author career is important. I take that responsibility seriously.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

AuthorPage is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including:

• That the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• That it will meet your specific requirements
• That it will generate any particular results for your author career

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AuthorPage and its founder shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Lost profits or data
• Business interruption

Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months, or $50, whichever is greater.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AuthorPage and its founder from claims arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your content
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of India, unless local consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For significant changes:

• We'll notify you via email or platform notice
• We'll give you time to review before changes take effect
• Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms
